The iPad is very easy to hold, but you have to find a comfortable posture for extended use. You will hear that this device cannot play Flash, that it doesn't have a USB port or a Camera, etc. That's true, but that shouldn't be a universal excuse not to purchase this device. It is very useful for browsing the web. The internet looks beautiful on the iPad. Each page makes use of the space so well. The same goes for the Apps; it's been a pleasure using all of them.
There is very little I do not like about the device. There's speculation over a wifi issue. I have experienced it too; where for no reason at all downloads will be slower on the device while signal strength remains at 100%. I, like others, believe this to be a software issue that'll be fixed in the next update. Other than that, my only other issues reside with 3rd parties such as Google. They made an iPad version of Gmail that looks great, but after extensive use I can tell you it's not good for long emails or editing drafts. Also, YouTube lacks all sharing and bookmarking functionality.
I recommend heading to the Apple Store and trying out the display models. You'll notice they're covered in fingerprints—but that doesn't seem to affect the viewing quality which is superb. The screen tones are magnificent. If you get a chance, check out some of the HD HTML5 videos on Vimeo—unbelievable!

M$Sure, we've had iPhones for a while and HP is well known for their (really nice) touch screen all-in-one computers, but this super thin and light tablet computer will change the way that people access information by providing a device that can browse the web anywhere, any time.
In my mind, the biggest inroad that the iPad will make is in education. I have this dream of taking a class, showing up on the first day, sitting in my lecture seat and pressing "buy course book". This mystical transaction will lead to information that is not only informative but indepth in a way that we have never seen. When the majority of people have a device such as the iPad, classrooms and courseware will once again be reinvented with increased interactivity and immediate access to up-to-date information.
It will be amazing :)

Very interesting info and a fine answer!
Just to check... the problem with writing long emails is more the Gmail app than the iPad keyboad? Or is the onscreen keyboard not so great for typing longer text?
