What is the cheapest competitor to the Apple iPad?

What is the cheapest competitor to the iPad? Is it worth buying?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi @burb, iPad is now facing tough competition from almost every major player in the portable devices market. Some of the major companies giving iPad a run for their money are HTC, Samsung, Research In Motion, Huawei and Notion Ink. HTC’s tablet is called the Flyer, it is a 7 inch LCD with Android 2.4 and has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor. The launch price has been pegged at around $670.

Notion Ink, an Indian company is coming up with its Adam Tablet, which is being touted as the iPad killer. Notion Ink runs on the Nvidia Dual Core Tegra 250 Processor, has a transreflective screen, 180-degree swivel camera, Adobe Air+Flash, Full HD display, wi-fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPRS. Another promising tablet is the Archos 5 Internet Tablet that can run on Android, Linux or Windows 7. It has an amazing high resolution screen and is priced between $249 to $499.
