What are some good iPad apps for sports fans?

I was thinking along the lines of football, baseball, basketball or golf simulation games or perhaps just apps to supply everyday sports news or guides for fantasy sports leagues. If there aren't any apps specifically designed for sports, what are the best newspaper apps that include a sports section? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Tip for best answer: M$1.45
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The iPad has a few apps for a sport lover that you might be interested in. Right now the number one grossing app for the iPad happens to be Madden NFL 11 that has come out form EA Sports. With the stunning HD quality that iPad offers, play electronic football in a whole new way. You can match up all 32 NFL teams with updated rosters and almost 2,000 real players. The price is $12.99 through iTunes.

As far as baseball is concerned, you can always depend on MLB.com in coming out with a great iPad app. This one is called At Bat 2010 for iPad. According to ZDNET, this app lets players interact more closely with the game that other apps and includes statistics, live video and animated play by play action. The price for this app is $14.99.

For the basketball lover, iBasket Pro HD seems to be rated pretty high. Reviewers have stated that this is the best basketball app they've seen in a long time. It is said to be pretty accurate as far as shooting the ball into the hoop. This sells for $.99 at iTunes.

There is a wonderful app for Sports Illustrated magazine also on the iPad that you might be interested in. The app is free but you do have to pay for each monthly issue.

I hope this helps on your journey through sports on the iPad. :-)

Although there are a number of applications for the iPad, there seems to be a shortage of sport game applications and fantasy league information. There will probably be many more added in the near future, but these were some that I found that you might find enjoyable or beneficial.

EA Sports has recently released MADDEN NFL 11 by EA SPORTS™ for the iPad. It costs $12.99. "Madden NFL" games have been very successful on most of the different gaming devices.

As of late June, 2010, Sports Illustrated became available for $4.99 per issue. A new issue comes out every Wednesday. At $4.99 per issue, a regular subscription to the magazine would be a lot less expensive.

Score Media offers theScore iPad Edition which, by the way, is a free application. It is one of three apps that the company has for the iPad. It came out in late July and gives current scores, news, and updates.

Fanball: 2010 Fantasy Football Preview Magazine]] application for iPad provides information on fantasy football leagues for the 2010 season. Fanball covers most fantasy leagues. (http://www.fanball.com).
