My personal experience with Google is that when they make an algorithm change it can catch some good sites when removing or downgrading the good ones. Google typically tweaks the algorithm a half dozen times in the next six to 12 months.
We're hopeful that when Google takes a deep look at our efforts to create high-end content, video and text, that feature accredited experts, we will recover.
Of course at this point the only thing we can do is put our heads down and keep increasing the quality of our pages.

It would be helpful to understand your audience.
If it's a VC and in person, I would prepare a deck that's in the 10-15 minute, 15-20 slide range. Anything more than that is non-sense IMO.
Dave McClure did a great video on VIMEO.

Adeo from TheFunded.com also has a solid deck on the subject:

Clearly someone must have done a scientific survey on this.
According to the Cornell Sun it does effect tips:
"I am disappointed but not surprised to learn that female servers with larger breasts receive more generous tips,” said Prof. Sherry F. Colb, law, who studies sexual equality."

The LAUNCH Conference is free to present.
DEMO charges $18,500 to a startuo.
LAUNCH companies are selected based on merit.
DEMO companies are selected based on their ability to write a check.
Tickets to LAUNCH is only $400 for startups and $1,000 for everyone else. Using a code like JasonNation knows 10% off that.
DEMO tickets are 6x+ at $2,495.00!
LAUNCH is run by fellow entrepreneur and angel investor Jason Calacanis (that's me!).
DEMO is run by a huge corporation, IDG, that only cares about getting 60 or 70 companies to give them $20k+ each.... their conference makes millions in profits off the backs of startups.
My conference launch on the other hand, is built for startups, and I've committed that all my profits from the conference will go into my angel fund--and be invested BACK IN THE COMPANIES!!!
It's fairly clear I think. You can give you money to a big nameless corporation like AOL's TechCrunch Disrupt or IDG's DEMO, or you can support the people's conference! :-)
