Is HTML5 better than Flash?

How does HTML5 compare to Flash and am I able to view it on the iPad?
Tip for best answer: M$2.12
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think this is a question that is yet to be fully answered.
There are strengths weaknesses to both.

HTML5 Strengths:
Doesn't need plug-ins
Natively supported by most current browsers
Free and open development.

Flash Strengths:
Extensive development community.
More available features (at least for now)
Extensive support from a company with "big pockets"

Flash Weaknesses:
Frosty relations with Apple
Higher costs for developers
Some people really don't like plugins

HTML5 Weaknesses:
Newer and relatively untested.
A standard not directly backed up by a major company (possibly a weakness/strength)
Tools for development not as advanced as that of Flash
Not as feature rich as Flash (yet)

So which is better?
It's difficult to say depending on the situation, but for most of my current projects,
HTML5 is the better choice, mainly due to lower cost of development and the "Apple Factor".

Note: All answers above are based on personal opinion and experience and
may not reflect the opinions of the greater Mahalo community and probably do not cover
all issues related to this debate ; )

IMHO, Heck Yeah. I hated Flash after Adobe bought Macromedia. Living in South Korea, I started hating Flash, because 99% of the web page developers here insist on using Flash for their webpages. Just because we have fast internet doesn't mean they had to load their webpages with Flash. And now, the webpages are taking longer and longer to load which is getting annoying. HTML5 is more straightforward and I love how http://www.scribd.com did a 100% conversion to HTML5 as an example. So Steve Jobs knew what he was talking about when he was talking smack about Flash

I agree with the skeptics, we can not use this number, who did not respond to the case of these results to determine the overall success of the iPad or accept. However, I think it is important to know what people like device. This way it helps to determine why consumers.

I found that many people like the iPad is ubiquitous play games and office, I built a ipad game software free download site. Check: http://www.ipadgamesfree.net
