These are the steps in setting up your iPad:
1. After taking it out from the box, plug it in and an iTunes will show up to welcome you to your new iPad.
2. Next is to press "continue" to get to the setting up. Click the license agreement and sign in with your iTunes account. If you don't have one yet, set one up. Next move is to select "Set up as a new iPad" and go on.
3. Get in sync and don't dump many iPhone apps on your iPad and don't bother to sync apps that have HD versions.
4. Manually sync the media. This is the best thing to do. It is possible to autofill songs in from play lists or you can drag them one by one from iTunes library.
5. Next move is to go to setting and hop on your Wi-Fi network choice. You can also add an email account under the "mail, contacts, and calendars" section by typing your basic info.
