"Games we play, words we say, cutting wounds that run so deep"?

The question I have is, sometimes do the things we say especially to our partner really hurt bad, so bad it almost feels like a physical wound? You know like a cut?

Do we sometimes deliberately set out to cause hurt? Can this mental pain, sometimes be worse than physical pain? I'd be very interested in your answer to this question.

I got the inspiration for this question from a Bon Jovi song - "Only Lonely" (see video attached - off the 7800 degrees fahrenheit album).

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Using harsh words and cutting insults is very damaging, sometimes irreparable. My feelings on this are that physical abuse creates bruises and pain. The physical pain will eventually go away but the scars in our hearts will remain there forever.

you can find another partner, or stop being so mean, I see no reason to accept cutting words as a reality
