M$I sure wish it did. I really want my iPad to have GPS.
I'm going to need to pony up the extra cash if I want the GPS radio built in. One part of me secretly hopes that someone will create a dock connector GPS unit sometime in the future. I won't use GPS all of the time and when I do, i'll be in my car so adding a dongle won't be a big deal. When I mount the device in my car, I could just plug in the raido. Easy peasy.
I hope that TomTom makes some sort of $100 kit that includes both the radio and the software. That would work really well for those of us who don't want to shell out for the 3G and simply want wifi.

to explain my answer, so that no one gets confused, the question originally stated "Does the 8 GB iPad have GPS?" The asker must have changed the question and now I cannot edit my answer. So I am putting it here. The rest of my answer stays the same.
